Turn Out Your Light

Turn Out Your Light

Written by: Kate McRae

I’ll never look into your empty eyes again

Searchin’ for your soul or for my friend

Neither will I find again

The life we once shared has flat-lined

Your floating through your life, and I’m tired of being blind

It’s time to see the truth

Yes its time to face the truth

You are like a lighthouse

When I am out at sea

I can’t erase those memories

With your light beck’ning me

I lost my will when I gave you my heart

And the only way I’ll get them back’s to leave

Please let me go

And turn out your light

I’m setting out to find a life of my own

A place to start again, to call my home

I can’t watch my life pass by

No I can’t let my life pass by…’cause

You are like a lighthouse

When I am out at sea

I can’t erase those memories

With your light beck’ning me

I lost my will when I gave you my heart

And the only way I’ll get them back’s to leave

Please let me go

Turn out your light

I’m sorry but I can’t wait any longer

I don’t want to waste any more time

I didn’t plan to leave, but there is something stronger

Telling me to go

Strike out on my own…

You are like a lighthouse

When I am out at sea

I can’t erase those memories

With your light beck’ning me

I lost my will when I gave you my heart

And the only way I’ll get them back’s to leave

Please let me go

And turn out your light

Turn out your light

Turn out your light

Turn out your light

Turn out your light
