A lot has happened since the first of the year. My video of shenanigans tomorrow will show you a lot of it, but I wanted to fill you in before telling you what’s going on Behind My Eyes this week.
I have been eating, sleeping, and breathing music. Everything I’ve done in the last two weeks was somehow related to making, writing, and building a career in music. Some may say that’s overboard. To say that I’m giving it 100% is definitely an understatement. But I am my music. It is who I am and all I do. What can I say? As you’ve probably noticed, I have been writing a ton lately. I can officially announce that i have recording time booked in mid-February and hope to have my new album, Warning Label, out by the end of April. Lots to do to get ready for the release, but I am very excited for the chances and challenges that lie ahead!
So what is on my mind today?…This. They say it is bad to stretch yourself too thin. But what if you are just constantly doing things that you love? This is the quandary I face. Yes, I am very busy, but it doesn’t feel like I am working. But maybe that is the key. Work doesn’t have to be “work.” Too many people these days get stuck doing something that either makes them unhappy or wears them out too much to do the things that make them happy. I personally know several family members and friends that have this problem. Lets be real. I know everyone has to earn their living. Lord knows I worry about that all the time. I just believe that the majority of your energy should go toward things that make you happy. It may take putting in a lot of extra hours, but if it is something you truly love, it won’t feel like work. It will be energizing instead of draining. You only have one life to live, so it may as well be the kind of life you want! That is what I want for myself and that is what I wish for you.
Welcome Behind My Eyes! I hope you enjoyed what you saw and stayed tuned every week for another sneak peek into my thoughts, plans, and actions.
Til next time,
